Vacation Part 6 - The Beach

We did go away to the beach for a couple days, just us. We don't have a lot of pictures because Mommy and Daddy were too busy keeping us from drowning. Josh loved being in the water and riding the waves with Daddy.
Josie preferred to hang out on the beach and play in the sand.

And thus concludes our vacation recap.
Happy Memorial Day!

Vacation Part 5 - Cousin Gordy

Our cousin Gordon is 2.5yrs old and he hung out with us almost every day. That's Gordy in the picture, not Josh. Josh is the fat one, Gordy is the skinny one.
We did lots of fun things together, like play with trains and go to the playground. Here we are making PlayDoh creations.

Vacation Part 4 - The Pool

Daddy spent lots of time in the pool with us while we were at Grandma and Grandpa Ambuel's house. Here are some fun pics of our fabulous time.

Vacation Part 3 - Fun Times

Grandpa and Grandma Ambuel have lots of fun kids toys to play with because my cousin Gordon comes over to their house all the time. You'll get to see Gordon in another post.

Here I am playing tee-ball.

Mommy would field the ball, and roll it back to me.
Then I line up the hole in the ball to the tee and swing away.
Josh really liked the ride-on John Deere tractor.

Grandma and Grandpa have a pool too!
Check out the next entry for pics.

Vacation Part 2 - The Grandparents

We didn't go to FL to visit some mouse with big ears. We went to see Grandma and Grandpa Ambuel. They live in the middle of the state of Florida where the only thing there is old people :). But we had plenty of fun staying at their house. Stay tuned to find out how we spent our sunny Florida days.
Meanwhile, here are some close-ups of the happiness.

Aren't I getting so grown up?

Pregnancy Update - More Good News

We had the fetal echocardiogram today. At 23 weeks, there are no gross abnormalities of the heart, blood flow is good, and the baby is measuring normal at about 1lb. 9oz.. All very good signs. It is possible that there could be a small hole in the heart somewhere that is too tiny to be detected at this point, but everything so far shows no signs of Trisomy 18 and we are so grateful and relieved.

The doc says he's seen a few rare instances where a baby had Trisomy 18 but had no anatomical abnormalities detected. The baby just stopped growing in utero. So we go back for another ultrasound in 7 weeks to check growth. The good part about all this is that we get to see our baby a lot more than most people do :)

Thanks to all who have been praying for us. We'll keep you updated!

Vacation Part 1 - Flying High

We're back. And we've got tons of pictures. So I'm going to break it up into a few blog entries. Here we are having an Auntie Anne's cinnamon and brown sugar pretzel with Daddy. Yum!

This is us looking at our plane when it came to the gate. Josh was really excited!

Here we are on the plane. During the flight, Josh sat and slept on Daddy's lap, while Mommy and I talked and did activities.
Here we are totally ecstatic that we made it to Orlando without any mishaps.

A Tractor Love Affair

Josh l-o-v-e-s G-pa's tractor.
If he's not going for a ride on it, he's following after it and admiring it from afar.
I enjoy a ride too!
G-pa lets me raise and lower the bucket and sit in the seat all by myself.

Chimney Sweep or Homeless Child?

Which do you think Josie looks like?
This is the way Josie looks every time she comes in from outside. She has this incessant need to constantly smear her hands across her face, and this is what happens.

Spring is Here

Yah! Spring is here. We 've been enjoying lots of time outside. Here are some pictures of some of the things we've been up to.

Josie helped Grammy with her annual cleaning, repotting, and watering of the house plants.
Josh helped G-pa with landscaping.
Josie did some excavating.
We like to spend time tinkering in our workshop too.

Easter - Belated

Here is our Easter morning picture. (Mommy doesn't look happy because she feels like she is going to throw up every moment of every day :( But she is happy that we can celebrate Jesus rising from the dead :)
One of the kids favorite Easter gifts were these bubble guns. They make life a lot easier for Mommy and they prevent the kids from overdosing on bubble juice. Thanks Uncle Aaron and Aunt Kristin.

Pregnancy Update

Baby is now 20 weeks old in utero. Mommy is still feeling sick more often than not. That's one of the reasons why its been a little quiet on the blog lately.
Another reason for the silence is that a screening test showed that our baby has an increased risk (1:19) of having Trisomy 18. This is not a diagnosis, but the possibility has been a difficult thing to process. We had a Level II ultrasound at 18 weeks and everything looked normal, which is a good sign. We did not find out the gender, so you all will have to wait to find out.The only way to tell 100% if our baby has Trisomy 18 is with an amniocentesis. We have chosen not to do that, so we will have to deal with not knowing for sure if he/she will be okay. In a few more weeks, we go back for a fetal echocardiogram. And then at 32 weeks, they will check fetal growth. If there are no abnormalities seen in the heart, and the baby continues to grow, then the chances are good that everything will be okay.
